Now hiring Full-Time English Department Group Leader and
Full-Time teachers
Introduction:
School and students: WTIS is a newly established Chinese International School located within the Taihu Great Learning Center for Chinese studies in Suzhou, Wujiang city (approx 1hr from Shanghai). WTIS is a boarding school teaching primary school students from grades 1–6. Over the past several years, WTIS and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) faculty and researchers have worked together to help WTIS develop into school able to offer students, teachers, and administrators an educational experience equipping all with capabilities to navigate the complexities associated with 21st Century. Unique to WTIS is a curricular model combining innovative Western education methods like systems thinking (created at MIT) with traditional Chinese culture to cultivate a healthy physical, mental-emotional and spiritual foundation for life. Small class sizes and a low faculty student ratio create an ideal learning environment for experiential learning both inside and outside the classroom. We are looking for native English speakers with ESL teaching skills who are outgoing, energetic and love working with children to be a role model for these students as they develop characters for a lifetime. Teachers can choose to learn meditation, qigong, martial arts and other aspects of traditional Chinese culture through activities in the center directed my Master *** Huai-chin.
